ROHERTY'S DAIRY BAR

My mother, Carol Roherty, of Janesville, WI recently sent me this photo along with many other blast's from the past. This was the only one of Roherty's Dairy Bar in the batch.
Just days after receiving this I was notified by facebook email that someone had posted a comment on a photo posted in the facebook group named Growing Up in Janesville, WI. The photo is entitled Mr. Steak hand puppet.
A Mr. James Polglaze had made a comment... "I remember Roherty's Dairy Bar with stools and counter on the West side of the 5 points. Great malts with the extra malt in the steel mixer cups set alongside a full malt glass, and great food."
What links the two together are my Mom and Dad. They were the owners of Roherty's Dairy Bar and were managing partners of Mr. Steak in Janesville, WI who, over time, became the full owners.
The photo was taken on the opening day of Roherty's, circa mid 1940's. I, being the first born, 1952, and a male, was destined to work there as soon as I was able. The photo brings back many memories. As Mr Polglaze remembered "Great malts with the extra malt in the steel mixer..." etc.
Thank you for your memories!!!
Look deeply into the photo and see what you can remember.
Sorry, but you have to be old enough to have been there.
